The City Council wants residents to forget the
promises made by City Founders in 1999 to protect existing neighborhoods.
The City Council wants residents to forget the
City's commitment made in 2003 to FL PK DR residents to
keep traffic out
of the residential neighborhood.

City recognized traffic problem in 2003:
1). No controls put in place to reduce or control traffic
2). Added turn lane from Palm Harbor Parkway on to Florida Park Drive (funnel
affect - increases traffic)
3). Added turn lane from Palm Coast Parkway on to Florida Park Drive (funnel
affect - increases traffic)
4). Allowed FL PK DR to become thoroughfare exchanging traffic between the two
parkways
5). Reclassified FL PK DR as a major collector road, allowing commercial truck
traffic & addition of diesel fumes
6). Ignored pleas from residents to protect the health of the elderly and the
children
7). Ignored scientific reports/warnings of the harm to health from traffic
fumes, traffic noise, and traffic dust published by:
a). World Health Organization (WHO)
b). Center for Disease Control (CDC)
c). Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
d). Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
e). Numerous Universities around the world ( including many U.S.
Universities )
8). Ignores damage to residential
homes due to the vibrations of large trucks, leaving repair burden on the
residents
9). Violates City Policies and Ordinances put in place to protect residents from
harm by the City
Since the City recognized the traffic was heavy (in 2003) on the residential
street, FL PK DR, and added turn lanes from two parkways (after 2003) onto FL PK
DR which substantially increased the traffic, then the harm to the residents seems to
be
intentional.
1). The City will
decide which children will NOT have a healthy environment. (Harmed by traffic
fumes and traffic dust)
2). The City will
decide which children learning capabilities will be harmed. (Harmed by
traffic noise)
3).
The City will decide which children will have higher risks of cancer, diabetes,
asthma, and other respiratory problems.
This City Council wants Palm Coast
residents to believe that FL PK DR is not the only street with the problem.
1). FL PK DR is the only residential street in
Palm Coast with 8,000+ cars /per day and 500+ trucks / per day 60 ft from
children’s bedrooms where traffic fumes / traffic noise / traffic dust endanger their health / lives.
2). FL PK DR is the only residential street in
Palm Coast that sits between two parkways that the city created turn lanes from
those parkways onto so the traffic would have easier access for a 2 mile
thoroughfare exchanging traffic between the parkways allowing the traffic fumes
/ traffic noise / traffic dust to harm residents.
3). FL PK DR is the only residential street in
Palm Coast that the City stated in 2003 the traffic was too heavy and then
reclassified it as “major collector road” allowing 8,000+ cars / per day and
adding 500+ trucks / per day to harm the health of residents.
See sample of the kind of traffic the City Council believes is acceptable 60
feet from children's bedrooms:
Kind of Traffic
NOTE:
8,000 x 365 = 2,920,000 cars / per year
(60 ft from
children’s bedrooms - 80 ft from Holland Park basketball courts)
500 x 365 = 182,500 trucks / per year (60 ft from
children’s bedrooms - 80 ft from Holland Park basketball courts)
4). FL PK DR is the only residential street in
Palm Coast that the City violates its own policies and ordinances whereby
supporting harm to residents from traffic fumes / traffic noise / traffic dust making it acceptable
within the City.
Violations of the City
(See City Items IV and V)
5). FL PK DR is the only residential street in
Palm Coast where the City will support programs for healthy living, fight
against cancer, and safety for children and then supports traffic fumes / traffic noise
/ traffic dust to harm residents health and the volume of traffic to jeopardize safety.
6). FL PK DR is the only residential street in
Palm Coast that has repeatedly asked the City Council to protect the health of
residents and the City has ignored warnings published by the CDC, EPA, WHO, and
numerous universities around the world.
Harm to the Elderly
Harm to the Children
Harm to All Residents

). FL PK DR is the only residential street in
Palm Coast where the City has purposely set out to harm the residents by
actively supporting and making possible the increase of the volume and kind of
traffic.
NOTE: Holland Park basketball
court is just 80 ft from roadway traffic fumes, traffic noise, and traffic dust.
How will this affect the health of the children?
